PLA activities in the waters and airspace around Taiwan

6 to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) Tuesday to Wednesday, Jan. 2-3

2.PLA activities：
9 PLA aircraft and 4 PLAN vessels around Taiwan were detected by 6 a.m.(UTC+8) today. 2 of the detected aircraft had crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait or entered Taiwan’s north and southwest ADIZ. R.O.C. Armed Forces have monitored the situation and tasked CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and land-based missile systems to respond these activities. 

3.PLA balloons：
Four PRC’s balloons were detected at 08:27, 14:53, 15:52, and 18:41 yesterday after crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait at the location 105, 160, and 159 nautical miles southwest of Ching-Chuan-Kang and 78 nautical miles northwest of Keelung respectively. The balloons’ altitude were approximately 12,000, 18,000, 22,000, and 24,000 feet respectively. The balloons headed northeast and sequentially disappeared at 10:48, 17:18, 19:01, and 19:02 yesterday.
